Short, medium, or long. There are more complicated terms, but we’ll leave it at that. Most of the dresses we see in The Sims are quite short, and that’s fine. But sometimes you want the elegance and style that can only be achieved by a dress that stops somewhere below the knee. This isn’t to say we should go back to Victorian dress codes, mind you. It’s all about the look now, not repression. And with so many incredible CC options available, you might soon find your mods folder full of dresses that almost touch the floor!
Love Spell Dress
Check Out This CC I hope your Sims aren’t in a hot season right now, because you’re gonna want to use this dress ASAP. If they live in Oasis Springs, just move them out! It’s rare that Sims clothing gets me more excited than actual clothing. But this CC is just crazy good. The flowing dress is layered over a short-sleeve turtleneck top, and is fastened at the waist with buttons. It’s available in solid swatches as well as some patterns, including birds, flowers, dots, and houndstooth. All of the colors, both with the dress itself and the sweater beneath, are unspeakably cute. This creator, Trillyke, has a far better understanding of what color combos work well than I do.
Casual Prairie Dress
Check Out This CC Ever want to pretend that it’s 1884 and you live in a frontier town with a population of 100? No? That’s just me? Well, that’s okay. Even if you aren’t living out your prairie lifestyle dreams through The Sims 4, this dress will still work for modern folks. Most of the swatches pair floral or plaid tops with lighter colored skirts, which is the bread and butter of any country girl’s wardrobe. The same tops paired with gray or brown skirts will be great for those who want a darker, perhaps goth vibe.
Shape with Bow Gown
Check Out This CC Jeez, this dress makes all of the real ones I’ve ever had look like a potato sack in comparison. That texture is just too real! Not literally, though – this is a great choice for you Maxis Match fans. I just love every inch of this. The design makes it look like it’s actually flowing, and it’s so silky. And normally I’m not a fan of large things on dresses. But this bow really fits in so well. It’s neatly tied across the front like a belt, and it sits strong and proud against your Sim’s back. There are twenty five equally rich colors for you to choose from as well. While I imagine you’ll mostly use this for formal occasions, there’s no doubt your Sim will be the best-dressed one around.
Winter Bloom Dress
Check Out This CC There are so many details and customizations that can be made to a dress. That’s what makes them so beloved and long-lasting, I think. Whether it’s the cut, material type or pattern, belts, buttons, or a million other little alterations – you’re bound to find something for every Sim you play. With this dress, it’s the collar and sleeves that stand out. They definitely add a certain charm to the outfit, and the creator was genius to match them. Dark pink with light pink, solid black against black polka dots, floral against lilac. They all seem like great choices for a cute spring or summer dress!
Eveline Maxi Dress
Check Out This CC I’ve often found that the best CC clothes are actually tweaked official clothes. Simmers just have the eye to spot things that need a little editing, like this basegame dress. Purrsephone, the brilliant creator here, simply removed the large flowers and improved the texture. Well, I should say it seems simple. It probably wasn’t, and it’s more than I can do in any case. The point is that the results are stunning. This dress maintains its high cut and length, but looks much better and more modern. Who knew something could become dated so quickly as the original did? There are 48 swatches total here, including 8 with a truly gorgeous floral pattern.
Pretty Breezy Dress
Check Out This CC This is exactly what I envision when someone talks about maxi dresses. Maybe not literally this exact creation, but definitely the style. The ankle-length cut, ruffled top, and belted waist really bring together all the best things about these sorts of dresses. The cool look of freedom just can’t be understated. Everyone will know your Sim is not a gal to be messed with. That’s just the vibe I get. I can’t tell you why, but I love it. This is actually one of my personal go-to dresses for my Sims, especially for summer photoshoots or cookouts!
Fiore Dress
Check Out This CC Here’s another great example of how the details make the dress. Up top, there are thin straps tied in neat little bows, and exposed shoulders. Then the middle is cinched with another tie, and buttons line the front. The mesh itself is beautiful, with some of the best wrinkles, slight ruffling, and shading you’ll ever see. Of course, the swatches can never be overlooked when it comes to CC. There are 19 solids and 15 patterns here, which means endless experimenting in CAS.
Freya Dress
Check Out This CC For when you want your Sim to show a little skin but keep some length, this is the perfect dress. It’s actually one of the longest here, going straight to the ground. But at the top, it is a deep V-neck almost down to the navel, and has a simple strap around the neck. Since you can’t really pair cardigans or shawls with dresses in The Sims 4, make sure it’s nice weather!
Kristina Dress
Check Out This CC These are the sort of dresses I just can’t get enough of. And with so many gorgeous swatches, you never will either. The style itself is somewhat retro, with a modest high neck top and long skirt. But the colors and patterns put a modern spin on an old classic. And that’s something that will always be a winning combo. There are plenty of solids with this dress to suit all your needs – weddings, funerals, holidays, alien abductions – whatever. You just can’t go wrong with a simple cut and pretty colors. All of the patterned swatches will make for fantastic everyday dresses. And all of the fruits and flowers bring a wonderful feminine feel.
Sequined Silk Gown
Check Out This CC When it comes to fancy dresses, this one will be hard to top. I mean, what’s better than sequins!? This dress, perfect for curvy Sims, has the most breathtaking cascading effect. The way it truly seems to sparkle just blows my mind. Every swatch available here is almost too good to be true – you’ll for sure have trouble picking which one to go with! But no matter what, this will be a killer choice for a myriad of formal events and parties.
