So our biggest tip when choosing the best juicer for you is to get one that can be broken apart for cleaning, or one that cleans itself (they exist!). Other things to look for include juicers that come with cleaning brushes, plus pulp strainers and pitchers for easy pouring. You can lose a lot of the fiber when using a juice extractor though, which is why some people also own one of the best blenders (opens in new tab) for making smoothies, as these tend to have a higher fiber content. Fresh juices are nutrient-dense, especially those made with a cold press juicer, so both types have merit. When it comes to different types of juicer, you’re basically looking at masticating juicers, centrifugal juicers, and cold press juice machines. Powerful masticating juicers are ideal for greens as they can squeeze liquid from thin leaves. Centrifugal juicers are cheaper but produce more heat, which can destroy some nutrients. Meanwhile, a cold press juicer will leave more nutrients intact, but these are expensive. Below you’ll find top-rated options from the world’s best juicer brands, including Breville, Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach. Let’s take a look at these now…
1. Cuisinart Juice Extractor: Best juicer overall
Our top choice, the Cuisinart Juice Extractor CJE-1000, does a fine job extracting juice from tougher vegetables and fruits, leaving behind only a small amount of pulp. It struggled a bit with softer produce like lettuce and fresh herbs but still performed well. This is also one of the few juicers we tested that managed to make almond milk using water-soaked almonds and water. In our tests, this juicer created the least amount of froth of any machine we tested, which means you get fewer bubbles and waste, and more juice. Our food preparation time was minimal. This juicer has a 3-inch-wide food chute, so you don’t have to spend a lot of time chopping fruits or veggies to fit. However, you need to spend some time cleaning this juicer since it comes with nine separate parts. Still, this process is made somewhat easier by the included cleaning brush. Plus, some parts are dishwasher-safe. This is a big juicer machine, so you probably want to find a spot on a kitchen counter to store it for daily use. It comes with a tall pitcher, a froth separator and a nonslip base so it stays in place during operation.

2. Hamilton Beach Big Mouth: Best cheap juicer
Juicers can be pretty expensive, but the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor 67601 is a great budget option that still gave us plenty of fresh juice with ease. There’s a few drawbacks with the Big Mouth, such as the lack of a pitcher to collect your fresh-squeezed juice and a larger-than-average quantity of pulp. That said, for the price we were still very impressed with this machine. It’s covered by a generous three-year warranty and is compact enough to be stored easily. The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor can be switched on and off, with no settings in-between. Realistically, you don’t need extra settings when it comes to juicing because everything you juice will yield the best results when placed under as much pressure as possible. That said, we did find that this juicer machine wasn’t the most powerful when compared to the more high-end options we tested. Because the juice this juicer made was high in pulp, those who are more health-conscious may find that it produces a high fiber drink similar to the results of a masticating juicer. Of course, you can also strain your juice before drinking.

3. Breville Juice Fountain Compact: Best juicer for small spaces
The Breville Juice Fountain Compact stands out in a number of ways. It removes pulp and produces smooth juice, and it does it in a very compact design. The bigger juicer machines we tested have a separate tub that collects pulp, practically doubling their countertop footprint. This unit does it all in one relatively slim machine and only costs around $100. We used some cheaper machines, but they don’t do the same level of juicing; they produce more pulp. The Breville Juice Fountain Compact is one of many juicers that claims to juice a whole apple with no slicing or other prep, and this one actually did it in our testing. It was a small apple, but it was still impressive. Skipping some of the chopping will save you time. This was not a perfect juicer machine. Its juice had more froth on the top than our best pick. It also struggled more than the best juicers with the really dense produce like beets. That is to be expected at this price level. It is also loud – one of the loudest juicers we tested. It had a tendency to spatter juice rather than producing a steady, smooth stream like some other juicers. It means you will want to use the included pitcher rather than your own cup.

4. Omega MegaMouth Vertical Low Speed Quiet Juicer: Best juicer for warranty
If you’re looking to upgrade your weekend brunches with expertly-made orange juice, then look no further than the Omega Mega Mouth juicer with a spout tap. The 3-inch wide chute is great for busy mornings when chopping up your fruit is too time-consuming, as you can feed in most apples, oranges, kiwis, tomatoes, and pears whole. This also makes it easier to create a higher quantity of juice at a faster rate. Clean-up is also noticeably simpler as it features automatic pulp ejection, so not only will your juice be smoother, but washing up will require less faff. This machine operates at a lower speed of 60 RPM, which is designed to squeeze all ingredients efficiently to break down the fiber and yield the maximum amount of juice. Combined with a 240W motor and reduction gears, this juicer provides twice the crushing force than most other low-speed vertical machines, making it a top-of-the-range choice. Reviews are good across the board for this juicer, however, one downside is that it’s hand-wash only. If you’re not keen on washing up and you use your machine daily, then this is something to bear in mind.
5. Breville Juice Fountain Plus: Best juicer for families
The Breville Juice Fountain Plus is a large, high-performing juicer with a tall pitcher which makes creating juice for the whole family easy. This juicer performed really well in our tests, and it produced less pulp and foam than almost any other juicer we tested. The juicer comes with a froth separator, filter basket, and cleaning brush, which makes cleaning its non-dishwasher-safe parts (that’s the juice cover and food pusher) easier. That being said, we did still struggle to clean these parts after using the Breville Juice Fountain Plus. On the plus side, this juicer machine took seconds to set up and was able to juice fruit and vegetables just as fast thanks to its powerful motor and wide feeder chute.

Today’s cheapest prices on the best juicers
What should you look for in a good juicer?
Price There are plenty of good juicers available between $60 and $300. In fact, during our research we found that more expensive juicers aren’t necessarily better. Perks like multiple speed settings, cleaning accessories and a warranty appeared at several different price points. Performance The best juicers extract as much liquid as possible from fruits and vegetables, leaving behind very little pulp. Machines that leave large amounts of very moist pulp just aren’t doing their job. The same is true for froth. Every juicer makes some froth, but you don’t want inches of bubbles – you want a machine that gives you the most juice for your money. Design If you’re serious about juicing, the best juicer for you is one that fits nicely on your kitchen counter so you can leave it out rather than hauling it out of a cupboard. That means paying close attention to the dimensions and even the length of the electrical cord. You don’t want to buy a juicer that looks great in your kitchen but doesn’t have a cord that reaches the outlet. Noise All of the juicers we tested make a certain amount of racket, but you might want to choose a less-noisy model if you don’t want to wake the other members of your household every morning. Accessories Make sure the juice machine includes a pitcher, a froth separator, a pulp strainer and a cleaning brush. You will definitely appreciate a nonslip base, which keeps the machine from wiggling its way to disaster – and a big mess.
How do you use a juicer?
For anyone new to juicing, here are a few things to keep in mind:
When juicing firmer produce like beets or carrots, chop each piece into smaller chunks. This requires more prep time but will put less strain on your juicer’s motor and blades, which helps your device to live longer. While it is possible to juice some nuts, the majority of them will only damage your device. One exception is almond milk. You do need to soak the almonds in water for 12 hours before juicing, which makes the nuts softer and puts less strain on your device.Don’t allow your juice concoction to sit too long after creating it. Since they’re produce based, these drinks have a limited shelf life before nutrients fade and they begin to attract mold.If you’re juicing for a later occasion, it’s better to store your juice in the freezer rather than the refrigerator. The nutrients will last longer.Add juices to common everyday recipes like muffins, pancakes and soups to add more nutrients to your meals.
